Welcome to BenandKaileyinJapan.blogspot.com, a weekly updated blog about Ben and Kailey, two Canadian's from Victoria, British Columbia.

Still in university, Ben and Kailey were married July 17th, 2010 in Victoria, Canada. At about that time Kailey began her Master's of Music while Ben, in his undergraduate degree, ..... switched majors. Two years later Kailey finished her Master's of Music at the University of Victoria at the same time that Ben, now finished his B.Sc in Economics, received acceptance into a Master's program at the University of Victoria (UVic). WAIT

Ben: " when's the best time to take a year off of economics academics to live and study abroad?"

Ben decided to take a break before a master's instead of after one. Having taken a single Japanese course the summer they were married roughly two years past, Ben applied and was accepted into UVIC's international exchange program with Japan as his top two choices. In Japan he would only study Japanese.


Due to the Japanese semester timetable, they were required to leave before UVic's semester was actually over.  On March 29th, 2012 they left UVic's semester early and arrived after the start of Japan's semester timetable.

And that's how the Japanese saga began...
