Our First Week in Japan

What could go wrong during your first week in Japan?

To be honest, a couple unfortunate things happened to us. Learn from us and save yourself some stress!

For example, I still can't believe we navigated the public transit from Narita airport all the way to Kyoto severely jet-lagged with extremely limited Japanese and all of Canada crammed into our luggage without missing any stops or boarding the wrong train.

Read on to find out how we did it and more!

Kailey and I would like to acknowledge and sincerely thank our previous roommate, best friend, and first and only person I've ever wanted as a brother Kazunobu Minotani and his Mother from Yokohama for their extreme kindness and help both leading up to, and during our first week in Japan.

Without them we would have been lost, alone, welcomed by no one, without an apartment, struggling with trains, and generally a lot worse off in our transition to our new life in Kyoto.
Thank you
